Kai Lintumaa, Director of Cyber Security
Kai Lintumaa is a Director of Cyber Security in the San Francisco office of Kivu Consulting. Kai is a highly accomplished security, intelligence, and security professional with a holistic and non-traditional outlook on enterprise security from digital to physical security risks and threats. Kai is an expert at global security intelligence analysis and synthesis, the employment of creative all-source threat intelligence collection and analysis methods, adversarial thinking, and the use of investigative and structured analytical techniques to help with strategic and tactical decision making in both digital and physical security domains.
Kai has over 15 years of experience across cyber and non-cyber security fields. He has worked as a cyber incident responder and digital forensic investigator in the Big 4 environment at PwC and at smaller boutique investigative consulting firms. He has served as a security, intelligence, and investigative adviser to journalists and NGOs in semi- to non-permissive environments. Most recently Kai served as the Head of Global Protective Intelligence and Investigations at a publicly traded cloud services company.
Kai is a member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA), and the Red Team Analysis Society, among others.
His certifications include GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) and has also participated in formal training on Cyber Threat Intelligence, Advanced Network Forensics and Analysis, and Advanced Interview and Interrogation Techniques.
Kai received a B.A. in International Economics from the University of San Francisco, an M.Sc. (Econ) in European Studies from the London School of Economics, and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Imperial College, London.
